Limitation of Liability
Hongirana Homestays, its owners, and its employees (collectively, "The Homestay") shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including but not limited to financial losses, loss of property, or personal injury, arising out of or in connection with:

Property Use: The use, misuse, or inability to use the premises, facilities, equipment, or services provided by The Homestay.

Outdoor Activities: Any accidents, injuries, or losses incurred by guests while engaging in outdoor adventures, trekking, or explorations, even if on designated trails or with local accompaniment. Guests participate in all activities at their own risk.

Acts of Nature: Any delay, cancellation, or interruption of services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government regulations, or severe weather conditions.

Third-Party Services: Services provided by third parties (e.g., transport, guides) recommended or referred by The Homestay.
Assumption of Risk
By confirming a reservation and checking in, guests assume all risks associated with their stay at a farmstay and nature retreat setting, including but not limited to: exposure to insects, wildlife, fluctuating weather conditions, and participation in physical activities.
Personal Belongings and Security
The Homestay/owner/staff is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal property, valuables, or vehicles belonging to guests during their stay. Guests are solely responsible for securing their belongings and vehicles.
Indemnity
Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hongirana Homestays from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, fines, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from the guest's breach of these Ground Rules and Terms & Conditions, negligent behavior, willful misconduct, or violation of any law or the rights of any third party during their stay.

Savour the Serenity: We aim for a truly peaceful retreat for all families. We ask that you refrain from consuming alcohol during your stay to ensure a calm atmosphere.

Honoring Our Culinary Tradition: To preserve the unique ambiance of our homestay, we offer and prepare only vegetarian cuisine on the premises. Thank you for respecting this tradition.

The Malnad Feast: Our food charge covers your full, delicious 3-course meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). This fee is fixed, regardless of consumption, ensuring you have access to a hearty spread.

Dining Delight: For any special dietary requests or personalized meals, please provide us with prior notification so we can craft a delightful dining experience just for you.

Caring for Our Home: We trust you will treat our property with care. Visitors will be held financially responsible for any damage or vandalism, subject to a fine twice the cost of repair.

Your 24-Hour Welcome: Each reservation is valid for 24 hours from your check-in time, designed to ensure a smooth and hassle-free stay.

Simple Check-In: As per government regulations, please remember to provide a hard copy of valid ID for all guests upon check-in.

Flexibility for Improvement: Terms and conditions may evolve without prior notice. Your understanding and cooperation are always valued.

Mutual Fit: We reserve the right to review and accept or deny reservation requests based on relevant considerations to ensure a great fit for all.

Maintaining Tranquility: Should any behavior become significantly disruptive to others, we reserve the right to initiate a mid-stay booking cancellation to safeguard the tranquil experience for all guests.

Quiet Hours for Deep Rest: Please observe our quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. This ensures a peaceful environment for all guests, allowing everyone to enjoy the sounds of nature, not noise.

Eco-Friendly Commitment: We practice sustainable living. We kindly ask you to minimize your water and electricity usage to support our efforts in preserving the natural resources of the Western Ghats.

Safe Outdoor Explorations: We encourage you to experience nature! For your safety and to protect the fragile ecosystem, please follow designated trails for all outdoor explorations. We highly recommend that a local person accompanies you on unfamiliar trails.

Pet Policy: Regrettably, to maintain the serene atmosphere and protect our farm environment, we cannot accommodate pets at the homestay.

Photography Etiquette: We love happy memories! Please be mindful and seek consent before taking photos or videos of fellow guests to respect their privacy.

Valuables and Security: Please store your valuables responsibly. While we strive for safety, the Homestay is not responsible for any misplacements, theft, or loss of your belongings.

Responsible Waste Management: Help us keep our land beautiful! Please dispose of all waste in the designated bins for a cleaner and healthier environment.

Shared Spaces: When using shared areas (like the dining hall or lounge), please be considerate of others, ensuring a harmonious atmosphere for all guests.

Respecting Family Privacy: To ensure the privacy of the host family living on the ground floor, we kindly ask that photography or videography is not conducted on the ground floor of the building.

Parking Guidelines: Please park vehicles only in designated areas to ensure smooth access and movement for all guests and staff.

Cultural Sensitivity: We encourage you to embrace the local culture. Please respect local customs and traditions during your stay to honor the rich diversity of the Malnad region.

Cancellation policy
We understand that travel plans can change. Because our homestay is a unique, boutique property, cancellations significantly impact our small business. We appreciate your understanding of the following terms regarding your advance payment.
All cancellations must be formally requested via call or WhatsApp.
Advance Payment Retention Policy
The following fees will be retained from your initial advance payment:

8 to 30 Days Before Check-in: We will retain 50% of the advance amount as the cancellation fee.
This allows us some time to potentially rebook the room for other guests.

7 Days or Less Before Check-in: The full advance payment (100%) will be retained as the cancellation fee.
Due to the short notice, it is often impossible for us to secure a new booking.
No Show or Early Departure

No Show or Early Check-out: The full amount of the original reservation (100%) will be charged, and no refund will be provided.
We hold the space exclusively for you for the full duration of the booking.
